Nobody saw the 2020s coming, not like this.

A pandemic paused the sport, then handed it back utterly transformed. New races arrived in new cities, chasing new audiences across continents that barely knew Formula 1 before.

New owners brought new ambitions, new money and a very different idea of what the sport could become. A driver market reshuffled itself season after season, until barely a team on the grid looked the same as it had five years before.

Verstappen went from promising to unstoppable, rewriting what dominance looks like. Hamilton chased one record that stayed just out of reach, race after race. Around them, a generation of drivers arrived faster, sharper and far less patient than the ones before, refusing to simply wait their turn.
